We are experienced in designing, engineering and installing gate operators and security well matched to your gate.
We have built many ornamental iron gates leading into gardens and courtyards. These wrought iron gates tend to contain more personal and decorative detail for the enjoyment of the owner. We fabricate such gates out of many different metals, as well as iron, with hand forged elements, allowing a richness of detail. Tell us your ideas, and we will express them in ornamental iron, aluminum, or bronze. The latches, hinges, and handles are specified per clients desires and function of the gate. Engaging details may include 17th century retracting lever latch, double swinging stainless hinges, a simple spring latch or a self closing, self latching swimming pool code compliant lock.

Wrought iron restoration projects can be very sensitive and time consuming. Graney Metal Design has done many restorations of existing ornamental ironwork. These projects could be just repainting or a complete restoration. A complete refurbish would mean replacing missing pieces and repairing existing ones. We are frequently called upon to reproduce elements which are missing or beyond repair. Attached are photos of some restoration jobs we have done.
John and his staff create sculpture from steel, bronze, or aluminum. The inspiration comes from many different sources. We have created an 8 foot wall sculpture adapted from a small pen and ink drawing by Alex Calder. A casual conversation about a 6" bronze dragon wrapped around a vase developed into a 9 foot long yard ornament. Form blends with function when the painted components of composition are utilized as a room divider or balcony grille.
I look to nature for my personal inspirations. Some examples of that may be the symmetry of a flower blossom or watch the shadow lines of a tree branch in winter. Those images can translate into so many things such as an arching grille with stark modern lines. The process of direct metal sculpture is difficult and rewarding. Each piece is a "one of a kind". There are no molds used, each part is a combination of the skill of the hand and inspiration of the mind.
