Metal Sculpture
John and his staff create sculpture from steel, bronze, or aluminum. The inspiration comes from many different sources. We have created an 8 foot wall sculpture adapted from a small pen and ink drawing by Alex Calder. A casual conversation about a 6" bronze dragon wrapped around a vase developed into a 9 foot long yard ornament. Form blends with function when the painted components of composition are utilized as a room divider or balcony grille.
I look to nature for my personal inspirations. Some examples of that may be the symmetry of a flower blossom or watch the shadow lines of a tree branch in winter. Those images can translate into so many things such as an arching grille with stark modern lines. The process of direct metal sculpture is difficult and rewarding. Each piece is a "one of a kind". There are no molds used, each part is a combination of the skill of the hand and inspiration of the mind.
